The Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund believes every child deserves to have a Merry Christmas. Our goal is to ensure those less fortunate in our community experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season. We provide low-income families with a full Christmas supper and toys for their children at Christmas. We serve families with children of the ages of newborn to 17 years of age.
The Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund utilizes CanadaHelps.org, a safe, secure way for people to donate to their favourite charity.
The Santa Claus Fund always has room for volunteers who believe in our mission of bringing the spirit of community and message of hope to children and families in need. If you recognize the value of bringing the spirit of Christmas into every home in the community of Medicine Hat, then please reach out to us. We have various opportunities for people to offer their time to ensure that everyone has a joyous Christmas.
Our organization receives no government funding. We rely solely on donations from sponsors and money raised from special events throughout the year. Ways to be one of our “Santa’s Helpers” are:
- Sponsor a family ($250/family).
- Be a Corporate Sponsor, perhaps organize a fundraiser at work!
- Attend one of our events hosted each year
It is important to note we do not own or rent office/warehouse space. Therefore we have limited overhead costs. If you have a facility large enough to sustain our Christmas operation, please contact our Executive Director.
On behalf of our daughters and my wife and I we are all truly appreciative of the generosity of the Santa Claus Fund. We would like to say a big thank you for the presents for our girls and gift cards for food for this holiday season. We are so grateful to your for your assistance.
My husband and I stopped by and did the Christmas shopping for kids and picking up the vouchers for food. I’m crying as I write this. I can’t tell you enough how grateful we are. This makes such a huge difference to us and to our kids. To be able to give them gifts and to be able to have a decent meal. To be able to have Christmas is something special all because of you guys. What you do is so incredible and amazing.
